Contemporary Psychotherapy Through a Biblical Lens
We use a Biblically-based approach to counseling, incorporating modalities which are appropriate for the individual and the issue. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), REBT, solution-focused therapy, exposure therapy, psychodynamic talk therapy, Gottman method, and family systems therapy are some of the modalities used frequently in our practice.
Couples, Families, and Individual Counseling for Teens and Adults
Couples
Communication, Intimacy, and Connection are goals for creating a safe and enjoyable environment for companionship. Gottman Method therapy is one of the most effective tools for enhancing skills in these areas.

Anxiety
Stress and fear has an impact on the body that can make us feel helpless - like we have no control. Peace can seem unobtainable. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a highly effective modality to help regain control of our thoughts and emotions. Dialectical behavioral therapy can help reset our bodies and activate our relaxation response.

Depression
Struggling with minor or major depression, or experiencing negative emotions that you just can't shake, can be debilitating. It can deplete our energy and motivation, sometimes robbing us of hope. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be helpful in reducing cognitive distortions that overtake our perceptions.

Family
Parents, in-laws, and siblings don't always see eye to eye. Boundaries are essential in establishing healthier ways of interacting while preserving relationships. Family systems therapy can assist with enhancing the dynamic within families where everyone has a voice and respected for the unique perspective they bring. Each person is equally vital.

Trauma
Without effective processing, sometimes the lingering effects of trauma can be an obstacle to relationships and functioning. Whether trauma occurred recently or in childhood, triggers can be intense and avoidance can become a way of life. Exposure therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy can help with processing trauma and building distress tolerance to painful reminders, reducing our tendency toward avoidance.
